Dentures

What are dentures?

Dentures have been around for many years and can replace several teeth or entire sets of missing upper or lower teeth. They are usually made from acrylic resin bonded to a metal support base. Complete dentures are designed for patients who have lost all of their natural teeth, while partial dentures are for patients who still retain some of their natural teeth.

While many people choose dentures to replace missing teeth, they are not the only option. Dental implants are fast becoming a popular alternative for patients with missing teeth. We can discuss both of these options with you.

The benefits of dentures

More natural looking and more comfortable than ever before, today’s dentures are a great solution for patients with missing teeth. They restore function, enabling people to eat normally, speak clearly and feel confident about the aesthetics of their smile. They also provide support for the cheeks and lips.

Your appointments with Brite Dental

To ensure you receive the best possible fit for your dentures an impression mould of your natural remaining teeth as well as your gum line is made and used as a template. From these impressions they are custom-made and will usually take around four weeks to craft.

Over time the contour of your gums will change, therefore it is important to visit the Brite Dental team regularly to ensure your dentures still fit securely and any adjustments can be made.

They are also one of the more cost effective solutions for replacing missing teeth. If you have health insurance, your provider may help you with the cost of dentures, so don’t forget to check first.

Dr Kader can talk to you about all your options and offer more information about the treatment options that will best suit your needs.
